Dr Elizabeth McCusker has several decades of experience in neurology, both in private practice and as a Staff Specialist at Westmead Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. She has taken an active role in advancing neurological care through research, particularly in her main area of interest, Huntington disease. In her past role as the Director of the Huntington Disease Service at Westmead Hospital, Dr McCusker developed the Outreach model of multidisciplinary care. She has overseen a number of clinical studies, and served as the Secretary General of the World Federation of Neurology Research Group in Huntington’s disease in 2005 -2009. She is a past recipient of the Women of the West Award from the University of Western Sydney.
Dr McCusker’s other main interests include neurology of older age, dementia, and headache.
